Appletree Orthotic Services is an orthotics clinic conveniently located in Burlington Ontario serving Greater Toronto, Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton and Halton Region. Our clinic specializes in the design of custom orthopedic braces and orthotic management for children and adults of all ages who face challenges with functional abilities.
Appletree combines convenient location, full accessibility, proximity to other allied health care providers, and free parking to meet the needs of our clients. To accommodate working families we are open Saturdays by appointment for consultation, fitting and follow up appointments. We are able to see clients without delay, consultations are arranged within days and braces are normally provided with 2 weeks.
The clinical and technical staff at Appletree Orthotic Services are certified and registered with the CBCPO (Canadian Board for Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists). We are also registered members of CAPO and OAPO (Canadian and Ontario Associations for Prosthetics and Orthotics). Our team has more than 30 years of experience in the design of custom orthopedic braces and orthotic management.
We draw from our combined experience at Sunnybrook Hospital, The Hospital For Sick Children and Erin Oak Kids to provide orthopedic bracing which addresses our client's special needs.
Carla Michelin-Clarke is a certified orthotist and registered orthotic technician with CBCPO. She has worked in the orthotics profession for over 20 years and has extensive experience with both pediatric and adult patients. She regularly attended clinics at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto and Erin Oak Kids Center in Mississauga. Her specialties include neuromuscular disabilities such as cerebral palsy, stroke, MS, ALS, diabetes, polio, as well as trauma and arthritis. Carla is also a former instructor at George Brown College, where she taught for more than 20 years in the technical program for prosthetics and orthotics.
Sam Di Summa graduated from the Clinical Methods in P&O Program at George Brown College and is a certified orthotist with CBCPO. He began practicing in the Toronto area in a private orthotics facility attending regular clinics at Sunnybrook Hospital, and broadened his experience at the Hospital for Sick Children where he continues to work as a clinical consultant and part-time clinical staff member. Sam has experience working with both pediatric and adult clients. His specialties include corrective helmet therapy for treating plagiocephaly and lower extremity bracing. His past experience also includes volunteer work in El Salvador and Guatemala.
Jane CribbsRegistered Orthotic Technician
Jane Cribbs is a registered orthotic technician and graduate from George Brown College.
She started her career in orthotics in Ottawa, where she worked for 9 years before moving back
to the Toronto area. She worked in Toronto at a Children's rehabilitation hospital for 22 years before
joining Appletree Orthoics. Jane has enjoyed her work as a technician and is experienced
in fabricating a wide range of orthotic devices for children and adults. She has also participated in
the CBCPO technical registration exams as a proctor and examiner.
